We’re holding a Wheels Day on Friday to replace the Wheels and Meals family night that was cancelled last week. Each Learning Team will have an hour of wheels fun time with their classmates.


Donate a gold coin and all proceeds will be donated to two schools in Hawkes Bay and Gisborne who have been affected by Cyclone Gabrielle.


What to Bring:


Wheels – scooters, bikes and roller skates.
No skateboards or go-karts.
All participants must wear a helmet.
Elbow or knee pads are encouraged.

Sausage Sizzle on Friday 3 March and orders close TODAY!

The Home and School Committee have kindly offered to run a sausage sizzle on Friday. The order form was sent home on Monday. Late orders not accepted.


Orders can be made via Kindo (we do not need the form back if ordered on Kindo) or place your order form and money in an envelope and return it to the box in the office no later than Wednesday 1st March at 3pm. NO CHANGE GIVEN. Thank you for your support – fundraising from the sausage sizzle will go to cyclone recovery too!

Inlight of the recent devastation up north, we have decided that all money raised from our Wheels and Meals evening will go towards the cyclone relief effort. We are in contact with two schools in the Hawkes Bay and will be looking at sending money to them once they are able to assess their needs and prioritise what is required.


So please come along with your wheels and a gold coin (or two) and share an evening of fun with us.

We are keeping an eye on local and national weather conditions and we are receiving guidance from the local Ministry of Education office.


If you need to collect your child/ren during the day, sign them out at the School Office before collecting them from their class.


At present, there are no known slips or flood warnings in the Newlands/Paparangi area. We will update families if conditions change.

Seesaw

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement that inspires students of all ages to do their best, and saves teachers time! Students use creative tools to take pictures, draw, record videos and more to capture learning in a portfolio. Teachers find or create activities to share with students.The Seesaw platform is used for homework activities as well as in class work.

Parents are also notified by the class teacher about classroom and school activities and events via the Seesaw platform. Parents can also Seesaw their child’s teacher.

 

Families only have access to their child’s journal. This means you will see student work tagged with your child’s name and posts the teacher tags with ‘Everyone’. Families will also be able to see any comment made by another user on their child’s journal posts.
