Morena Paparangi, food bank collection on Friday, organised by Joe, Y6 student. Donations welcomed – send to school with your tamariki.Thu Sep 23 11:02am
Dear Paparangi School
For my birthday this year I want to help people who don’t have much money to be able to buy enough food for their family. Last year my friends helped me by bringing food instead of birthday presents to my party and I felt really happy when I dropped off lots of food to the foodbank so I want to do it again this year. Anything like cans of food or fruit, biscuits or muesli bars, chips, potato sticks, pasta, cereal or bags of flour is a good idea.
If you would like to, please bring some food to donate to the Newlands Food Bank to school on Friday 24th September. There will be boxes available at school to put the food in. Thanks to my Mum and Dad who are going to help me deliver the donation to the Foodbank.
Thank you from Joe, Rakau Nui

Thanks for using the School App! It’s one year since the App was introduced so it’s time for a little house-keeping!Wed Aug 04 11:00am
Please check your ‘alert subscription’ settings are correct and you belong to the right groups eg Uenuku, Pounamau and Rakau Nui, depending on which class your child/ren belong to.
App users need to manually change their group settings when their child moves from Uenuku to Pounamu or Pounamu to Rakau Nui.
It’s easy to change groups – go to the menu in the top left corner of the app home page. Click Alert Subscriptions.
Go to Class Groups and select the groups that are right for you. That’s all you have to do.
Some people are still in last year’s groups so we ask you to check your settings are correct so you don’t miss out on useful information.
Thanks for your help and your support of the App.

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement that inspires students of all ages to do their best, and saves teachers time! Students use creative tools to take pictures, draw, record videos and more to capture learning in a portfolio. Teachers find or create activities to share with students. The Seesaw platform is used for homework activities as well as in class work.
Parents are also notified by the class teacher about classroom and school activities and events via the Seesaw platform. Parents can also Seesaw their child’s teacher.
Families only have access to their child’s journal. This means you will see student work tagged with your child’s name and posts the teacher tags with ‘Everyone’. Families will also be able to see any comment made by another user on their child’s journal posts.
